After 8 thrilling competitions around the world, in exotic locations such as Doha, Qatar, Liuzhou, China and Ibiza, Spain, the 2015 Aquabike World Championship is over.

In Runabout the last two rounds were supposed to bring big thrills, as Teddy Pons and Jeremy Perez were neck in neck in points. Race 1 started great for Jeremy Perez, but a mechanical failure on lap 4 stopped him, and he had to concede the win to Teddy Pons, who with those additional 25 points clinched the title even before the final race.  Which was very fortunate for him, because in the last race it was him who experienced problems and ended up scoring 0 points! All in all, it is a deserved World Championship title for Teddy Pons, and a terrific effort by Jeremy Perez.  However, the actual hero of the Grand Prix of China was Lars Akerblom, who was 3rd in race 1, and the winner of race 2, thus becoming the winner of China GP.

In Ski, the story of the season was the arrival of Chris MacClugage to Aquabike World Championship. Confident he would add his first world title to his numerous wins in Havasu, MacClugage brought his A-game, especially to round 3 in Ibiza, where extremely choppy conditions suited his riding style the best, and where, for a moment it seemed he would be able to catch the 2012 World Champion, Jeremy Poret. MacClugage was behind in points before the China GP, with a valid excuse that the difference between him and Jeremy Poret is partly due to the mechanical failure he experienced in the first round in Qatar, but, China GP showed that Ibiza was just a fluke, and Jeremy Poret proved without a doubt he is the best in the world, by winning race 1 on the last turn of the last lap, and then winning race 2, as well, for an impressive tally of 5 wins out of 8 races!  Moreover, with this double win in China, Jeremy Poret took over the lead in the race for 2014 Super Champion of the world title.

In Freestyle division, Rok Florjancic won both competitions, to defend his 2013 World Champion title, and in Ladies Ski Jennifer Menard finished an impressive season with two wins, to become the Ladies Ski World Champion.

Congratulations to all four World Champions, to all contestants, and we hope to see you again next year on the water at the 2015 Aquabike World Championship.
