What is jetGP.com ?
A community attempt to collect and unify all relevant data about the exciting world of water competitions - past, present and future. jetGP.com is a tribute to skilled and brave pilots from all over the world, who every year compete in racing, freestyle and freeride.
Never before was there an attempt to list all results and competitors (national and international) and present it all in a way that is easy to use and share by competitors, fans of the sport, and water-related web site owners.
The amount of data is immense, so if you see an error or omission, please let us know.
Competitors
We have preloaded the site with information and results on thousands of pilots. For a pilot to be shown on jetGP.com they have to have competed on a national or international level. And with all future results being added as soon as a competition is over, jetGP.com is an indispensable bookmark for all fans and sponsors.
And for the first time ever, you can easily show your complete competition history on your site/blog/facebook. You only need to embed it once (very simple), and from then on it automatically gets updated every time you compete. It increases your exposure and reduces the amount of work needed to keep your competition information up-to-date.
Site owners
Your jet ski related web site will benefit from competition-related content. You decide which scores and/or pilots' stats you want to present to your audience, make a couple of clicks and the data is embedded on your site, with no need for you to ever update it – it's all automatically being done by jetGP system. If you can add a YouTube video into your site, then you can add jetGP results, as well.
There is no charge and no obligation – you can embed and remove as much data as you wish. And, yes, it is simple to embed the data – if you can add a YouTube video into your site, then you can add jetGP results, as well. All of the stats are just as easily embeddable into any facebook page.
I only competed at regional events, can I be on the site?
Yes, you can.
To get your profile on jetGP:
1. Make sure you are logged in, using facebook log in button.
2. Visit any competitor (racing, freestyle or freeride) who you know personally and who can confirm that you competed on a regional level.
3. At the bottom of their page click this button. It will light up and next time that pilot visits the page they will be notified of your request and will have the option of confirming or denying your ID. If used in error, please click the button again to cancel the request.
4. You can select up to 3 pilots to request a confirmation from.
You will receive an email once your profile is ready for you.
How were the results collected ?
Some were provided by organizations, but most were collected by volunteers.
Can I add my results of regional and local competitions
At the bottom of each pilot's profile page pilots can add their own regional/local results.
Regional/local results are not entered/confirmed by jetGP.
If you are a competitor simply select year/competition/class/result and complete your competition history.
If we are missing a competition please contact us, and we will add it promptly.
Why are some results missing ?
If that competition is shown in the menu, that means we have the results for it, but we just haven't had a chance to convert them to be used on the site. We will as soon as possible.
If the competition is not shown in the menu at all, let us know and we'll see why. Maybe we just haven't heard about it.
Did IJSBA help you with results ?
No.
Contrary to popular belief, ijsba is not an organization, it's really just one person, Scott Frazier (you can read more here). He refused to cooperate in any way, and did not allow us to use any historical data, thinking this would stop us.
While this sounds sad, it actually turned out for better, because thanks to him jetGP had to rely on volunteers to supply the results. So, jetGP results are by far more correct than what ijsba has (30% according to our estimate). Not to mention that jetGP results cover events from the whole world, not just ijsba "world finals".
How will the future results be collected ?
We intend to continue the same way -- by pleading with organizations to share the data, and by having volunteers from around the world report as soon as official results are posted.
Can I help ?
Yes.
1. Spread the word about jetGP. Everyone should know that finally there is a place that brings jet ski competitions and competitors to the level of more popular sports.
2. If you know a competitor who still hasn't edit their profile, you can edit the country they are from. It takes just one click, and yet it helps improve the site tremendously. The goal is to have the country information for every pilot!
3. Submit news links about jet ski competitions. We'll publish them quickly, so everyone can enjoy them. See below on how to do it.
4. If you know you will be at a jet ski competition, let us know in advance and we'll give you instructions on how to report the results to us. Don't worry, we are doing this the high-tech way -- if you are at the event it won't take you more than a few minutes to do it!

Do I have to use facebook to login?
Love it or hate it, facebook has been accepted as a de-facto identification tool on the Internet. It's far from perfect, but it allows jetGP to confirm that a pilot who logs in on jetGP truly is the competitor he claims he is. This is important for quality of our data, so that you, a visitor to jetGP can be assured that a pilot's profile is truly maintained by that pilot, and not by anyone else. Also, you can then know that any interaction by that pilot truly comes from him.
If you are a competitor who does not have a facebook profile, please contact us on how to get you on jetGP without facebook.
OK, you say, but what about fans, you surely don't need to confirm their identity? Correct. However, facebook gives us a very unique opportunity -- to spread competition news very quickly. When someone reads an article on jetGP it pops up on their facebook wall, so all their friends can read the breaking news, as well.
NOTE: This option is entirely optional -- if you don't like to help spread jetski news, then you can opt out. However, please do notice there are no ads on jetGP, and that all of jetGP news are solid, competition-related news, nothing one would be ashamed of spreading the word about. Also, this is a standard practice used by Yahoo News, NYT and most other large news organizations.
