Dec 27 Update: Thanks to belated results for Alpe Adria Tour, the final point tally is slightly different from when the article originally appeared.

For a third year in a row Super Champion of the World is Kevin 'K-Ret' Reiterer !

After all the checkered flags have been dropped in 2014, one name stands above the rest.  Great results, combined with consistency and high frequency of racing resulted in another winning year for a young Austrian.  Oh, sure, he totaled "only" 54,376 points this year, which is almost half of his points tally in 2013, but it didn't matter because he was still 10,000 points ahead of 2nd place.

Congratulations Kevin, we look forward to your performance in 2015!

As for the rest of the results, a well deserved 2nd place goes to the 2014 Ski GP1 World Champion Jeremy Poret, who held the lead in the Super Champion points race until October.  Maybe if he had competed in as many races as Kevin Reiterer the result could have been different, but mathematical calculations aside, Jeremy Poret was the fastest in the world when it mattered, at the World Championship.

The big news in the top 10 of the Super Champion of the World standings were two North European pilots -- Daniel Svae Andersen from Norway, who landed at #7 this year, all the way from #91 last year, and Jonna Borgstrom, a young Swede, who ended up at #9, up 39 places from her last year's finish at #48.  This also makes her the first female to finish in top 10 at the end of year since the invention of Super Champion of the World three years ago.
