"What a black day, just few days before to announce the new 2015 calendar of the Freegun JetCross tour, originally planned of the second round of the tour we won't able to go to Estavayer this year due to the Free4style cancellation. We are trying with Francesco Nicotra, new president of the F4S committee to find a solution and looking for a new venue in Switzerland for the Freegun JetCross tour, but the challenging looks like harder due to a short time remaining. It's a tuff time for the JetCross tour, but be sure that we don't give up and looking forward. We support 100% F4S committee and we will be back next year stronger side by side to make happen a awesome event together in 2016 ! You can read below the official communication of the F4S crew:
Free4Style: the break We received two pieces bad news – one after another – during the last week. We are sorry to say that this will be the end of the Free4style 2015 but we are already looking forward to the 23rd edition in 2016. 22 years ago, a group of friends were at Lake Neuchâtel discussing who would be the best in Wakeboarding. They didn't know it at the time but they were planting the seeds for the event called ESTA.WAKE in 1999 and renamed Free4Style in 2006.
With an average of 25,000 visitors during the last couple of years, the success was there. With our motivation, volunteers, passion for Extreme Sports and fabulous main headliners, we were always at the top of the Internationals Events.
There have been two obstacles a few months ahead of the event: we have lost our main sponsor and we have had some difficulties with the municipality!
After many hours of intense discussion and extensive reflection, and also due to the very short timeframe for the search of a new main sponsor, we had to take the difficult decision to cancel the 2015 edition.
From this situation, a new committee dynamic has been born; we will do more than our best to restart the event in 2016. Take note!"
